Open Milestones · by Enfantz
Know what to look for, what to try, and when to ask.
Open Milestones will be the free, plain-language milestone guide for every parent on earth, in their own language: an age-by-age checklist grounded in public CDC and WHO guidance, and a Claude assistant for your questions and next week's play.
Year-one targets: 100,000 families · 20 languages · zero ads, ever.
- Free forever for individuals
- Open source at launch
- Powered by Claude agents
Why this needs to exist
-
Good milestone guidance is public, but it's scattered, clinical, and mostly in English.
-
Worried parents search late at night and find forums, ads and fear instead of calm context.
-
Knowing a milestone isn't the same as knowing what to do this week, or when to call the pediatrician.
How it will work
Three steps, run by Claude agents
-
01
Tell it your child's age
No name or photo needed. You get this month's checklist, written in plain language and translated into your language by Claude Sonnet 5.5, with every translation back-checked by Claude Haiku 5.5.
-
02
Ask anything, in your words
Claude Sonnet 5.5 answers using the checklist as context. Claude Haiku 5.5 checks every answer for diagnostic or alarming wording before you see it.
-
03
Get next week's play plan
Each week the agent suggests a few simple at-home activities based on what you've checked off. If a milestone is missed, it suggests talking with your pediatrician.
Checklist content is paraphrased and cited, not copied. Sources: CDC "Learn the Signs. Act Early." milestone checklists and WHO motor-development milestones.
Not a diagnosis. Not medical advice.
- When a milestone is missed, it encourages you to talk with your pediatrician. You know your child best.
- It never ranks, scores, compares or labels children.
- Age only, no names. Delete everything any time. Never used to train AI.

Questions
Do I have to share my child's name or photos?
No. The checklist and assistant only need your child's age in months.
Which languages will it support?
Our year-one goal is 20 languages, each reviewed by native speakers, and every major language after that. Tell us your language in the form above; it helps us decide what comes first.
Why is it free? What's the catch?
No catch: no ads, no data sales. Our paid product is for childcare centers. The free tier is our contribution to the community, and we intend to keep it free as it grows to hundreds of thousands of families.
Can it tell me if something is wrong?
No, and it won't try. It explains public guidance, suggests play, and when a milestone is missed it encourages you to talk with your pediatrician, who can look at the whole picture.
